work, weddings, work and well, weddings...

I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet from my side- things have been absolutely crazy busy at work-long boring story; but essentially, business is down in SA, and the pressure has been magnified from Head Office to deliver- sometimes unrealistically so... suffice to say it’s made for very tense and pressured working environments!


Wedding plans and ideas have been the running subject in our household, as you can imagine, and every topic from flowers, cakes, and clothes to guests, venues, food, music, and photos have been on the table and analysed from all angles! We went up to Manchester earlier this month with Angela and Kirsty's nana to visit the Gay Wedding Show, which was really cool and gave us a really good idea of what to expect. :) Was also great being able to introduce Angela to Kirsty's crazy grandparents who just went out of their way to make us feel so welcome! Angela got introduced to barm cakes and I was made a massive amount of jelly!

We bought Kirsty's mom's car from her a month or so ago, and have soooo loved the independance it's brought into our lives! trips like heading to Ikea though are dangrously easy, and we have already spent well over £100 on bits to make our house more homely and "us"... not sure if you've seen pics of our lounge before but this is what a few candles, pics, plants, rug and shelves have managed to create in what is now one of our favourite rooms of the house :)

We managed to fit in a visit to Claire (Kirsty's sister) in Coventry in September, and was so good seeing them all again- amazed (as always) at how quickly Luca has grown and really cute hearing your name being said in the 2-year-old voice... 

 Kirsty and I are happy to be back and excited to be planning the wedding bits, but very heartsore at the same time that many of our friends (and family) from SA won't be there... thinking of having a video of the service streaming through Skype for everyone in SA, and then coming over for one HELL of a party after the wedding...

Shortly after arriving back from SA, I sent off my application to the Border Agency (along with both of our passports) applying for permission to marry Kirsty. So nerve-wracking waiting for that letter to say all is ok, while they hold our passports hostage! Ofcourse as soon as I hear back, I will let you know (while simultaneously clutching a magnum of champagne!) :)
